Rokosjøen Camping

The campsite is about 20 hectares in quiet surroundings with beautiful nature and nice hiking trails, by Rokosjøen lake in Løten municipality. We are a small family business - run by the couple Sævar Hansson and Valdis Brynjolfsdottir from Iceland. We are new owners from the spring of 2019 and are working on upgrading / renovating the entire campsite. Something is finished and something is under construction. In the immediate vicinity is the public lake shore Haverbekkvika, church ruins on Rokoberget from the 13th century and Evenstenen, a huge moving block, possibly the largest in Hedmark, which was brought here with the ice during the last ice age. Along the campsite lies Rondanestien, a hiking road which stretches from Bjørvika in Oslo to Hjerkinn in Dovre. The village of Løten is only 8 minutes away by car, where you will find grocery stores, pharmacy, liquor store, restaurants, bank, trainstation and clothing store etc. We have drop-in spots for motorhomes / caravans / tents as well as seasonal and year-round spots. We have cabins without running water not far from the sanitary facility. The sanitary facility is new from the summer of 2020. We run a café with a license to serve drinks, where we serve chicken soup, home-baked cakes, open sandwiches, pizza, ice cream, soft drinks and sweets etc. in the summer season and by appointment. WiFi in and around the main building. We have a sauna. We rent rowing boats and canoes and there are good fishing opportunities in the lake as well as ice fishing in the winter. Fishing is free in Rokosjøen. We have a playground and on the municipal beach next door, there is a beach volleyball field for free use for all guests. We rent out party halls to private parties. We are only an hour's drive from Oslo Airport (Gardermoen), an hour and a half from Oslo city and Charlottenberg in Sweden, and about twenty minutes from Hamar and Elverum. The campsite is open all year round and has been since 1964. With us you can recharge your batteries, eat good food and experience nature and tranquility.
