Camping Messilä

Camping Messilä is next door to the Messilä resort and 8km from Lahti. It is on the Hollola coastal road by the Vesijärvi lakeshore. The well-maintained campsite has places for caravans, trailers and tents. Other accommodations include camping cottages, inn rooms and log villas. The campsite has a fully licensed restaurant, comfortable terraces, a summertime store, kitchen facilities for cooking and washing up, a washing machine/dryer, public saunas free of charge to visitors, free WI-FI and barbecue pits. In the summer, there is plenty to do in the area for visitors of all ages, like enjoying the large, clean beach area, the beach volley field, the beach football field, boat rental, water sports, children’s playgrounds, farm animals, barn dances, karaoke and other events (see the Event Calendar), Messilä Golf (18 holes), great cycling trails, cross country cycling and hiking terrain. Regular ferry traffic on the Messilä-Enonsaari-Lahti route is operated 6 days a week according to the ferry timetable. (Enonsaari Island is located 2km away by water and is a great family day trip destination! Some of the attractions on the island include a summer restaurant, camping cottages, beaches, nature trail and children’s playgrounds) In the winter, you can enjoy ski slopes, lit cross-country skiing tracks, snowmobile paths and the ice swimming hole. Watch the live view from a web camera. The area was selected as the top campsite in 1987, 2001 and 2011. The popular TV series ”Karavaanarit” was shot in the area in 2010 and 2011.
