Little Owls Camping

Set in five acres of ex dairy pasture, and surrounded by working agricultural farmland, our campsite is very flat with far reaching views to the Alton Barnes White Horse and into the Pewsey Vale. The dairy was established on the site in the early 1970s and operated until 2008. It’s not just humans who we welcome to the site! We have so many wild visitors including many species of birds. When we first arrived in 2009, a family of Little Owls nested above one of our barns. We’re trying to encourage them back to live here but during Summer evenings they can be seen busily bobbing across the field or perching on a fence post. We are lucky to see Buzzards, often perched on telephone poles and there are many red kites that can be seen gliding through the air.
